The third of five new collection vehicles has been delivered to J&B Recycling this week and is soon to be on the road.
The total £1million investment in new collection vehicles replaces the existing fleet with up to date Mercedes-Benz Econic 2630Ls fitted with the latest Active Brake Assist 5 emergency braking technology.
The updated fleet is fitted with Terberg TMDW9020 dynamic weighing technology which will give us valuable data that we can use to further drive efficiencies and enhance service to our customers.
The project to update collection vehicles aims to focus on improving service levels and increasing the efficiency provided to our customers due to less downtime. Increasing our capacity to offer superior recycling solutions
Vikki Jackson-Smith, CEO at J&B Recycling, said: “The delivery of the third of our new collection vehicles is an exciting landmark for us in our dedication to continually improve the customer experience and our waste collection efficiency.
“Although we have seen an impact from Covid-19 we are looking at a positive forecast for the year ahead and the updated vehicles and fleet are instrumental to continuing to provide a reliable and flexible service when our customer’s businesses resume operation.”
The knowledge of Paul Rochester of Terberg UK and Craig Graham of Bell Truck and Van Mercedes-Benz has been instrumental in this ongoing project.
In 2020 J&B Recycling announced it had invested a total of £1million on our fleet of vehicles and mobile plant to replace older units and add new additions to our growing waste management services for both businesses and households. This was the first step in replacing and adding new vehicles to both the J&B fleet and collection vehicles.
