Looking to the future

29.06.20

J&B Recycling has continued to closely monitor the impact of Covid-19 on its business and customers. Following recent Government guidelines surrounding the UK coronavirus plan, Vikki Jackson-Smith, CEO of J&B Recycling, wants to share her gratitude to J&B’s customers and suppliers, many of whom have been with the business for over 20 years.

“Our thoughts have been with all the commercial businesses and hospitality industry instructed to close during the UK lockdown.

“As we begin to look towards the future here at J&B Recycling, we would like to wish you all the best coming through this challenging time.

“The hospitality industry will no doubt face challenges, recent advice from Hospitality Net stated that businesses will be focusing on recovery strategies including staffing levels, stock, implementing social distancing and continued customer engagement for when people begin to be able to socialise once more.

“Tees Valley Mayor, Ben Houchen, has recently announced a £1million support package for hospitality and tourism businesses across the region to help them reopen for summer.

“Pubs, restaurants, museums, venues and hotels are worth almost £1billion to the local economy and the year-long Welcome Back Fund aims to help independent small and medium-sized visitor-facing businesses to reopen, with grants of up to £1,500.

“Here at J&B Recycling, we are looking to the future and are here to help you restart your business offering advice on any waste issues you may have. Our free waste audits to all of our current and new clients aim to deliver a more bespoke pricing structure to assist with a cost effective alternative and increase the amount you recycle.

“During the lockdown as a gesture of goodwill we offered to suspend services at no cost to all our trade waste and recycling bin collection customers who were instructed by the Government to close. We understand that these have been difficult times and did not want to charge our customers for a service not being utilised and adding further cost pressures.

“We have been thrilled to see the support for key workers, including those in waste management and the hard work of our staff during this challenging time has been incredible.

“We wish you all well going forward and look forward to working with those allowed to operate from 4 July once more.”
