J&B Recycling has this month welcomed more employees to the team providing job security as full time permanent staff.
We have employed nineteen agency staff with a further five jobs to follow in July 2020, offering job security and retaining skills within the business.
Despite the global uncertainty brought by the coronavirus pandemic, J&B Recycling has remained an essential service for local authorities and customers offering waste and recycling processing facilities and collection.
Mark Penny, Commercial Manager at J&B Recycling, said: “We have had to remain flexible throughout lockdown measures and have moved staff between different areas of the business and locations to help to reduce the impact of the restrictions. This in turn has minimised the number of staff we have had to furlough.
“We have furloughed less than 5% of staff who could not be temporarily relocated to different areas of the business.”
Prior to lockdown measures, we had expanded the team, with the appointment of 27 new members of staff within the last nine months.
The new members of staff include LGV drivers, weighbridge operators and members of the accounts team.
J&B Recycling remains well placed for the future with the potential for growth in employee numbers.
In January 2020, we processed the most waste in the history of the business, with a 43% increase from January 2019 leading to the continued expansion of the J&B team.
