J&B Recycling, an FCC Environment company, has strengthened its transport operations with the arrival of five new MAN TGS 35.440 hookloader vehicles, as part of continued investment to support the company’s growth and deliver a reliable, high-quality service to customers across the North East.
The four-axle vehicles are fitted with Boughton hook-loading and automatic sheeting equipment and will be used to collect and transport roll-on/roll-off containers across J&B Recycling’s operating network.
The new vehicles will add further capacity and resilience to J&B Recycling’s fleet, supporting both customer collections and the movement of significant volumes of waste and recyclable materials between the company’s sites and processing facilities.
Powered by 12.4-litre, six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engines, each vehicle produces 440bhp and meets the Euro 6 emissions standard. They have been designed for demanding, heavy-duty operations and will provide J&B with modern, reliable vehicles for one of the most important elements of its transport operation.
Each hookloader is also fitted with an automatic sheeting system, allowing containers to be covered and secured before transportation without the need for drivers to sheet loads manually. This supports safer and more efficient working practices while reducing the amount of manual handling required.
Representing an investment of £820k, the five vehicles form part of J&B Recycling’s wider commitment to investing in the infrastructure, equipment and resources needed to support continued growth without compromising on service quality.

The five vehicles will operate throughout the North East, supporting roll-on/roll-off collections for customers as well as the movement of materials across J&B Recycling’s network of sites.
