At J&B Recycling, we care about our community and it’s important for us to keep Teesside clean. There are a few easy changes we can all make as a community to make Teesside cleaner and healthier for everyone. Below we have listed ways in which we can all make Teesside pollution free.

Lead by Example

One of the most effective ways to keep a community clean is the set a litter-free example for others. For example, pick up after your dog, make sure your litter goes into the bin, as well as picking up any other litter you see lying around.

Get Involved in a Community Clean Up

Another way to keep Teesside clean is to give back to the community by helping keep litter under control. This could include becoming involved in or organising a local litter pick. Everyone wants to live in a clean environment so it’s likely that many people would want to get involved too! You can play music and arrange to have food and drinks to bring people together and clean up our community.

Ensure Bin Bags are Tied Securely

When putting your rubbish bags in the bin, it is important to ensure that they are securely tied. This will prevent pieces falling out and littering the neighbourhood during the bin collection process. Also remember to ensure your bin lid is closed to stop the wind (or your friendly neighbourhood pigeons) from redistributing your rubbish!

Get Active

Instead of taking public transport or driving your car, why not walk or take your bike for a change? Not only will this reduce your contribution to air and water pollution in your community, but it will also ensure a more active lifestyle for yourself!

Reuse

As well as saving you some money, reusing any wrapping paper, gift bags or plastic containers can help reduce the amount of waste produced in a community which will ultimately reduce the level of pollution.

Get Outside

Spending time in your community can remind you of its importance and further encourage you to want to protect it. The only way to keep our communities clean is to love and appreciate them!

Find Your Voice

Spread the word to your friends, family and neighbours, encourage them to help in the journey to ensuring we keep Teesside clean!
