The team at J&B Recycling are delighted to support local, Hartlepool-based business, Hart Biologicals, with blood donations again today.

Hart Biologicals are a coagulation, reagent and contract manufacturing experts. They provide tools for diagnostic purposes, so the blood we donate is used to help test their products for quality control purposes.

The company was founded in 2002 by renowned industry expert Albert Pattison, with a core mission to manufacture and supply the Manchester Capillary Reagent. The Manchester Capillary Reagent is the first-choice solution for INR monitoring and a corner stone of Hart Biologicals business.

From a small local family-business, the company has grown into a thriving biomedical company with a global reach. They have flourished from an enterprise of just three people, to a forty-strong team, building a global network of distributors, from Europe, to South America and Asia. They have also won many awards, been at the cutting edge of innovation and developed strong roots in the local community.

The team at J&B Recycling regularly donates blood to support their work. MD Vikki Jackson-Smith says, "We think it is important to support local businesses, and Hart Biologicals undertake such important work, so we are more than happy for staff to take 5 minutes out of their working day once a month to give blood."

Farhat Bi, who donated blood today says, "I'm not sure anyone really 'likes' giving blood, but it doesn't hurt and it is for such a great cause - you feel good after you've done it. Plus you get a biscuit".
