J&B Recycling has recently welcomed five new members of staff to our expanding team.
One of the new members to the team is weighbridge supervisor, Mark Screaton who started work with the company at the end of September 19.
Mark supervises weighbridge staff and ensures the company is operating compliantly, reporting as per Environment Agency guidance and uses the correct EWC coding on all incoming and outgoing materials from all four sites.
He also ensures that the weighbridge is running smoothly reporting any issues to the Operations Manager.
Mark commented “Recycling is the way forward. My job at J&B is perfect to learn in a continually growing industry.
“The waste industry and all the regulations are fascinating and so important, It’s changed so much over the years and it's great to see not only what’s going on locally but globally too.”
Last year J&B processed 140,000 tonnes of waste and is continuing to expand its recycling collections from kerbside contracts, commercial and industrial businesses following the opening of a new recycling centre in Washington.
Vikki Jackson-Smith, Managing Director of J&B Recycling, said: “Mark’s role at J&B is vital to ensure the company is compliant due to the number of transactions we have incoming and outgoing on a daily basis from all four sites.
“This role was necessary to free up time for other managers to continuously improve the business due to the growth the company has experienced over the past few years.
“Mark has settled well into the team due to his wealth of knowledge and experience of this industry, and we are really looking forward to developing his role further.”
With 15 years of experience in the industry, Mark hopes to progress within J&B Recycling in the future.
Mark added: “It’s been an absolute pleasure joining the company.”
J&B is continuing to expand its work force with a number of positions available.
