J&B Recycling has raised over £70,000 in support of its local Hospice and nominated charity, Alice House.

The company has been a Patron of the Hospice since 2006 meaning it pledges a donation of £5,000 every year, as well as supporting the charity in numerous other ways.

Greg Hildreth, Deputy Fundraising Manager at Alice House Hospice, manages business partnerships on behalf of the charity.

He said: “It is wonderful to have the ongoing support of Vikki and her team at J&B; the warmth and kindness they have shown to local people and families in need of our support is hugely valuable and helps to sustain Hospice care in Hartlepool and East Durham.

“J&B is a great example to other businesses in the region on the many ways in which they can become involved with Alice House and show their support.

“Over the years we have built a really beneficial and engaging partnership that has helped the lives of individuals who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness immensely.

“It would be great for other business in the region to follow in J&B’s footsteps and support the Hospice in any way they can.”

Over the past 14 years, J&B has sponsored various events and projects undertaken by the Hospice. The most recent being the Moonlight Walk, one of Alice House’s longest running and most popular events.

Staff have also taken part in golf days, as well as regularly booking advertising space in Hospice brochures. The team has also taken part in fundraising activities in their workplace including selling calendars and merchandise, share a card appeal and more.

Vikki said: “As J&B plays such an important role in communities across Hartlepool it’s essential for us to support local causes such as Alice House Hospice whenever we can.

“The Hospice touches the hearts of many people in the area and to be a member of the guild of patrons is an honour.

Alice House undertakes such important work in the local community and effects both our employees and customers and we’re proud to be so strongly affiliated with it.”
